Wal-Mart has launched a ‘Sustainability Pact' in order to seek out more sustainable practices in the entire supply chain in Brazil. The project will gather over 300 suppliers and 200 NGOs as well as government authorities, partners and associates.

The company has sought a number of commitments from suppliers around sustainable development in the Amazon, packaging and development of more sustainable production chains. "We want to be sustainability leaders in Brazil and we are increasingly committed to seeking solutions that will contribute to the future of the planet. This event shows how in line we are with the whole chain. We know that, in sustainability, the union is essential", said Héctor Núñez, CEO of Wal-Mart Brazil.
