Philippines: Agri dep’t to build plant to store farmers’ veggies

CEBU, Philippines-The Department of Agriculture in Central Visayas (DA-7) will build another cold storage facility at the North Reclamation Area in Cebu City within the year.

Eduardo B. Lecciones Jr., DA-7 regional director, said that the P1-million facility would store excess vegetables and fruits from different towns of the province, which would not be accommodated by institutional buyers like supermarkets, bagsakan centers and the various wet markets in Cebu City.
