WAL-MART plans 40 more stores in India

Wal-Mart plans to open 40 more stores in India, Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said. "Wal-Mart is very satisfied with its results in India. I was informed by the Wal-Mart CEO that they are looking at opening more stores.

He gave me a figure of 40 more stores across the country in the immediate future, Sharma said at the India Economic Summit. The retailer has a cash & carry joint venture with Bharti Grop and runs the Best Price Modert stores. The retailer opened its first cash & carry store in May this year.
