Just over a year ago, India was all set for a retail revolution. A number of Indian companies set up western-style supermarkets. There were even protests by millions of people in the unorganised trade who felt threatened by this growth and feared job losses. However, two years down the line, some of these big chain stores have had to scale down operations.
