Carrefour will open its first hypermarket in Algeria by the end of 2007. It will be located in the Mohammadia commune, close to the capital Algiers, and will cover an area of 12,000 square metres. The retailer plans to expand its distribution operations and buy products directly from Algerian producers for export.
