This study looks at the supply chain of CSU in Costa Rica, where it is the leading chain by far, compared to the second largest supermarket chain and the traditional wholesale market which is quite modern and competitive. Here we have the case of COOPEMONTECILLOS, a well-established organization of ranchers of all sizes, with the second most important slaughterhouse in the country, its own chain of beef stores, and study its performance in the context of competition from supermarkets.
