Are cooperatives then the right strategy to help farmers compete in the marketplace? The following analysis elaborates further on this dilemma by comparing otherwise similar cooperative and individual farmers over a three years time-frame. In doing so, the analysis focuses on the major milk-shed supplying the capital Addis Ababa.
